This just makes me sick. It has been only 3 days or so, since we saw the first footage and screenshots of Diablo 3, and already we have many kids who are complaining!
Are you that ungrateful? And tell me, are you serious? Do you know how hard Blizzard is working on this game and how much work they have already put in? It disgusts me that instead of enjoying and discussing the game, many diablo fans are dissing it, and saying they don't like the graphics and want them to change.
Well you know what? That is a perfect example that society nowadays has become way too spoiled. Nothing is ever enough for people. All of this GREAT Diablo 3 information gets released, and many people, all they can do is whine about it! It's a joke really.
The graphics of Diablo 3 are fine. To those telling blizzard to change them, please, kindly shut your mouth. If any of you knew how much time and work it takes to make and design a game like this, from scratch, nobody would be saying anything but praising Diablo 3.
Now I know many of you here do not feel this way, and I apologize for this post in advance, but I have to get this out there!
Even G4 linked to a stupid petition telling Blizzard to change the graphics! Is this a joke? Seriously? 3 Days...and theres a PETITION to change the graphics? People are way too ungrateful! And it makes me sick honestly.
I just hope Blizzard doesn't see the petition at all, and that they keep on course with what they have planned for the game. They don't need all of these stupid kids trying to tell them how to make THEIR game. Blizzard delivered Diablo 2, they delivered Diablo 1. They delivered World of Warcraft, Starcraft. All were done perfectly. Now what makes you think they won't do the same for Diablo 3? Please, let them work on it, let them release more footage, and I can promise you that over time you see see the polished game they have been working on for the past 4+ years.
Stop complaining! Just stop. Please. And enjoy the very first footage and information!

I fully agree. We have been waiting 8 years or so a now some people are complaining? What would you do if blizzard just canceled making the game? They put alot of effort into this game and its only been a few days since announced... Just keep your mouths shut and let them make the game in peace.

No matter what Blizzard makes, people are always going to be unhappy with the result. It's the same with anything- You can't please all of the people, all of the time.
Personally, I think that the graphical improvements are fantastic. I was worried that a future Diablo game would compromise the great gameplay in favour of better graphics (take Age of Empires 2 -> 3, for example). However, Blizzard appear to have kept the isometric gameplay, so as far as I'm concerned, bring on the great graphics (as long as they don't make my computer lag ;D).
And to all the people with their petition- If you wanted to have a 'Diablo 2.1', then learn how to mod, and edit Diablo 2. Diablo 3 is a next-generation game, and should have graphics to suit.

I agree with you, we have been waiting 8 years for this game. I can just say that the grafics is GREAT! It's fantastic. Already reserved a game because I love Blizzard and their games, not really Warcraft but Diablo ;) Diablo is Blizzard, thanks for this fantastic game.

The funny thing is theyll be crying for better graphics then try to play the game on a 6 year old pc running 8 FPS.
Why are they running a pettition when they dont even have the hardware to run a high end game.
I can guarantee you half the people on that list would be able to run COD4 past 20FPS ON high. Heck Im sure half of them cant even play WOW without having it skip frames. Its sad really.

if you think the graphics fine, ok. but you should know that some people dont like the way it is now(me, for example). well, the game is make for US, PLAYERS, they should listen all the tips to make a better game, cuz THIS IS WHAT THEY WANT, a better game! so, if blizz annouced the game now, they were already prepared to hear everything that could be said. and i think that was the intention. HEAR what PLAYERS could say to make a better game. theres a long road until diablo came out. stop think blizz is a kid and they dont know how to deal with comments.

1. You have not played.
2. Is not even close to a BETA stage, let alone release. Lol.
3. Was highly regarded by the lead designer before the demo as a "work in progress. Nothing you see here is final".
4. Has unrendered backrounds and scenery.
5. Was announced a few days ago.
You people try to make a good case on why this is this, and that is that. Well let me put it to you simply.

So those who accept and agree with every single thing Blizzard does are the real fans? Only through comments and suggestions, they can make the games better, just like what they are doing with Starcraft 2. What's wrong with giving our honest opinions hoping to have our beloved game better? And I thought we were living in a democratic society. If our criticism is useless, then I believe Blizzard is professional enough to disregard it.

HA! I would have been happy with the old 2d graphics for D3. It's Diablo 3 for crying out loud! What more can you ask for? ANY REAL DIABLO VET AND TRUE FAN DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE GRAPHICS. Graphics were never the highlight of the Diablo series. I'm thinking most of these complainers probably are new to the Diablo series.

I think the Graphic's are wonderfull and that they still keep the old camera angle is what made me fall in love with this game... In my Opinion one of the best RPG series of ALL TIME!!!

I feel the graphics are fine the way they are (beautiful actually) and I'm eager to hear some system requirements!
It's not the graphics that make the game, how many time's can you remember hearing that? The addiction drives the industry and the addiction is based on core mechanics - not graphics. That's a time tested fact. Diablo 2 came out in 2000 remember? It did not receive high marks for graphics at all but it became a staple in the industry almost overnight based on it's addictive core mechanics and has fostered a player base that to this day still has a steady heartbeat.
And then there's always the belief that the majority of humans that complain simply complain for the sake of complaining. It's an ego boost. It gives a sense of empowerment and self-importance.
It's also a dysfunction.

I completely agree with you, so many people that have only seen a fraction of a fraction of the game already hate it.
Ben does have a point though, it doesn't matter what the end result is to the complainers. They're going to bash it simply because it's different from the Diablo games prior to it. I loved Diablo 2 and Lord of Destruction ( not the Lord himself...That would be weird ) both were almost flawless, the game system was good too. The only problem I had was that you couldn't party up with people in the channels.
Winterspring, if all the players are complaining about is graphics, then I doubt Blizzard will do anything to change it. Maybe if there was a petition to have badass loot, or the option to turn on the "loot or lose out" funtion on, or even adding more characters to choose from. Who wants to see one of the Cows from the Secret Cow Level as a character? I know I do...that would be priceless...Nothing like a swarm of bovine to lighten the day.
Anyway, Winterspring, maybe Blizzard's idea for the demo release wasn't for people to give them tips (or in the case of the petition - orders) on how to make the graphics, they made those graphics themselves. I couldn't see them scraping it just because people didn't like what they saw.
In my opinion, the graphics in Diablo 3 are incredible. They shouldn't be changed to look like D2's graphics. I think it's about time we got a change.
Bunpot, so what Yiomsmiggy's post had insults in it. You should look at what he meant, not the insults. People are complaining about a game that isn't even close to being completed, they could at least wait until it's at %50.
He meant by him not being a true Diablo is that a TRUE Diablo fan would accept what the graphics are (even if they hate them) and just be estatic that it's even going to be released. Besides, if people argued, bitched and complained so much and Blizzard listened to them. The release date would be set back so far, we would'nt see it for a decade.
Blizzard's improvements are fantastic, monumental in fact. Such fluid motions, so much detail in the smallest thing. Take those cultist guys that summoned that big guy with the swords. After the fatso was finished assembling, the cultists were sent flying.
How about when those four guys were taking on that four-legged tiger-demon thing. The thing picked up the male Barb and bit his head off and ate it. The deaths are going to be gruesome and awesome in Diablo 3, instead of just collasping to the ground. You might get pummeled into a pulp, picked up and eaten, turned to ash or even exploded.
I expect great things from Diablo 3, hopefully it isn't Pay to Play...like WoW. That is one of the few things I could argue about.

I just feel that I need to use some insults to get it across and through the thick heads of these people. it really is a shame how selfishness is now a common philosophy.

For me, the graphics ain't such a big deal. I love the fact it's 3d. We're living 21st century, folks! And the main thing is, the view-angle is still the near-legendary "overhead isometric view" that has been in D1 and D2. And the destructible environment... So many things to bash, so little time...
The only that is in need of change is the light and the atmosphere. There were zombies out in the woods, and sun was shining?!? I believe it'd make a much gloomier (read: more immersive) feel to the Diablo universe if the D3 followed the same, dark path as it's predecessors.
Anyway, I can't start complaining since, as has been stated, the game isn't even half ready yet. (A bit sad really, but it wouldn't be Diablo if it wouldn't be perfect.)
True Diablo fans unite :)

I cant say i have any problems with the graphics in Diablo 3... in fact.. i love them. It makes me sad to see so many people complaining about a game which is only just being started and is looking great so far anyway... The only problem i can think of with Diablo 3 is that now im anxious for it to be released even though it wont happen for an age =(

Personally, I love the way it looks. Its got a mixture of dark and gritty, and bright and cheery all in the correct places. I'm a huge fan of the Diablo series, ever since Diablo 1 which I still play (its pretty much dead now). Im sure the dark and dreary gothic locales will continue to be a part of the game, just not the element that encompasses it entirely. Think about it, its been 20 years since the menace of the Prime Evils and from what i gather, the worlds had a chance to heal a little. the outside environments are going to be brighter and more... normal? while the underground areas/dungeons, ect may remain dark and gritty environments. Its really too early to judge yet in my opinion. I wish all you people who are instantly blamming it would give it some time and see what direction Blizzard wants to take it. I cant wait to see what they show us next, or better yet, give us the game to play :D

I agree that it's wrong for people to hate the game immidiately, but I'm still a fan of the old graphic direction, and am not sure if this new style will work well. I'm completely open to it though, it might rock even more. I really don't mind it being bright and all, as long as the end result maintains some originality, since i think it's starting to stray into the realm of warcraft.
Pls stop flaming though... it's not right for people to bash others with a certain opinion. Whining is bad, yes, but there are certain people who express their opinions constructively.

Im agree with the post, BUT remember that Blizzard was always and will be always like that. If you remember Diablo 2 had the same critics from magazines and players, the game had a 640x480 resolution? or was 800x600? can remember but for the time was a very low resolution. Then with the Expansion they fix that a little adding the option for more resolution.
Some players also hate WoW graphics, W3 and everything.
Blizzard works like that, for some reason (probably to get a better gameplay) they use "low" graphics or cartoon graphics. This is a complete style also.
When I watched the trailer and see the girl I was like "Mmmm very beautifully for Blizzard, kind of asian game :P "
And some ppl thing the same when they look swords from WoW that actually look like a Final Fantasy item. I dont like when I see that, blizzard is more like cartoon/american comic game. Not so realistic but with is own logic.
Also remember that Blizzard make games for everyone, I hate when Quake4 and Doom3 required so much hardware. Now I can play those games, but now those games are old :P (for the market). Blizzard makes games for everyone and thats super cool.

Im against the "colorful" graphics, maybe if Blizzard can toggle an option to change the color scheme to colorful or "Gothic" than id be happy with that. I think the colors are too "happy". The graphics are superb but the colors are like teletubby.

we have been waiting for diablo iii for almost a decade now and just seeing the trailer makes me want to cry. call me a baby but i am a very big diablo fan. damn it, i have spent countless nights playing this game and years wondering if there will ever be a diablo iii. i don't give a shit if the graphics are not the same with previous games or whatever. i just want to have a copy of the game and save my judgment until the end! way to go, blizzard, and thank you!

i would also very much like them to go back to the dark creepy diablo look, but i will not complain, cause as it's said, we have all been waiting for so many years, they've given us a bunch of great games that have been (and still are) loved by everyone, so i'm sure this will be a thrill to play as well as the 2 previous Diablo games. just give it some time and this will rock our asses of, i'm pretty sure :D

I would say it's Blizzard's fault, they worked for Years in secret changed the graphic extremly and than they even don't wanna hear the critical words of the players!? If they presented the game further they had change/create new dusty textures. But so they say; "Hey Guys we are to much far from the beginning to change this". Come on, what would you think if some of your favorite (colored) Movies would became black & white? StarCraft II looks also same as the first game. Only Diablo 3 must look like WoW, why??? I've seen enought of WoW to don't wanna see this graphic style in other games ever, as most not in sequel games wich has another style before. Diablo means GOTHIC textures and not comic styles! Bill Roper & Blizzard North would turn in their graves if they were dead, cause it's a shame what they have done with the Diablo Style.
To big changes are not good... and if they want the graphic like this then they should let the people choose in the graphic-menu if the wanna want to play the game "Dusty or Clean with 8xFAA".

First off, I agree, fully. I make simple little 2D games for a website forum, and those cheesy little games are EXTREMELY complicated! So anyone who "demands" better graphics is simply a troller, and is only saying such things to get a negative response that they crave.
Secondly, do the graphics look "realistic?" No. Not really. But I don't want "realistic" anymore than I want "nonrealistic." I want Diablo III regardless of graphics. And I think these graphics will suffice JUST NICELY. More-so even.

The graphics which are released in the first few days aren't THAT bad...... Honestly they look pretty good already. And they get better and better. C'mon guys, Diablo is in PRE-ALPHA! You can't expect a game in pre-alpha to turn out as good as a game which is fully released right? Get over it. Chill out, and complain if it still sucks once its in beta.

Alrighty im not gonna write a life story here but i just wanted to say that i played diablo 1 played diablo 2 and lod and they were fun times. Last year some time my friend showed me the movie of the barb in forgotten tombs and i was blown away i was like this is f@#kin awesome man its like every new diablo is more outsanding than the next and i think blizzard are bloody legends for blessing us with these superbad games and all them needle dik whingers should take a big step back and f@#k there own face i mean what r yous complaining about maybe yous should f@#king man up a bit mate i think i speak for all diablo fans out there that it makes us all bloody sick, sick of listening to the shite this has turned into a bit of a thought hey well any way top notch job blizzard keep on keepin on !peace out! aussie aussie aussie oi oi oi !AUSTRALIA RULEZ!Biatchs...........

I really dont like the way the graphics are. Not saying they should be more or less d2,but the style on them is totally not d2 .That's what many people are trying to say,cause apart from the characters and settings that use the previous games,the feel from the demo vids isnt quite diablo 1 or 2 like. Maybe it will be a surprise or a disappointment ...we'll find out in a couple of months/years..

Why in the world would Blizzard want to even want to advertise a game that's not even going to be released in years to come? This game doesn't even have a release date yet. That's totally overkill and it's just stupid if you ask me. That's like retail stores putting out all of their halloween merchandise 3 months before the actually holiday. It's a spoiler and ruins the mood. When Diablo 3 finally does come out, people will be so tired of reading about it and talking about it, the entire mood of it all will have vanquished and we'll be like "yeah diablo whatever it's been on advertisement now for 3 years whoopee". After awhile, the excitement dies out. Diablo team, get a clue and have a little sense.
