Diablo 3 Difficulty Chart

Here is a very useful Diablo 3 difficulty chart that shows monster hp, drop rates, and much more information.

This chart will help you identify the benefits of running higher or lower difficulty. Thanks to  d3agl3uk for the chart.

Blizzard has commented on the upcoming "Tiered Rifts" on the way to Diablo 3 in Patch 2.1.0:

We're actually looking to expand upon Nephalem Rifts in our upcoming 2.1.0 patch, creating what we're internally calling "Tiered Rifts." In a way, Tiered Rifts are similar to an endless dungeon (or "topless tower," as Wyatt likes to call it) in that as you complete different tiers of Rifts, you can unlock more tiers. Another goal with Tiered Rifts is to provide a way for players to test and challenge themselves, and also compare their progression against the progress of other players.

Wyatt gave a sneak peek during our Live Q&A on March 24:

Wyatt Cheng: There is another major feature in the patch 2.1, which is going to be what we're internally calling Tiered Rifts. The idea is a challenge scenario, where players do increasingly hard Rifts, to see who can get the farthest. The way it works is: You do your Bounties and get the tokens, then you do a Nephalem Rift. If you clear it, there's a chance to get a Greater Rift Token. If you successfully do that, you'll get a Greater Rift Key (Rank 2); if you clear that one, you get Rank 3, etc. Much like seasons, we're going to have a leaderboard as well, so you can see who got to the highest tier Rift, and what time were they able to obtain on that.

Tiered Rifts are still in development, so there aren't many additional details to share right now. We hope to provide more information in the coming weeks, though--so stay tuned!

Here's a very useful legendary crafting ingredient spreadsheet. This will help you when you want to know if there is a mob to check for in the zone, act or dungeon you are currently in.

Blizzard has increased the drop rate for legendary items in Torment 1-6 and from purchases with blood shards from Kadala. The full post is below:

Update 3/28 @ 5:20 p.m. PT: These hotfixes have been implemented and should now be live in all regions. Please note that you may need to restart your game in order for them to go into effect.

------------------------------------------------------------

Hey everyone,

As a quick heads up, we have two buffs to Legendary item drop rates coming down the pipeline.

  • First change: We're increasing the drop rate for Legendary items (this includes Set items) in Torment 1-6.

  • Second change: We're significantly increasing the chance for an item purchased from Kadala to be a Legendary.

Both of these hotfixes are somewhat proactive, but are aimed to help improve the reward curve for players as they start to reach higher Torment difficulties. We look forward to hearing your feedback as a result of these changes!

Please note that these hotfixes have not yet been implemented. Once the hotfixes are live, they will be added and updated here.

New Paragon Portraits

Blizzard is also adding new paragon portraits to the game.

Here's the post:

Update! We're going to add additional Paragon portraits. :) It's been a popular request from the community, and we think it would be cool to distinguish players with a lot of Paragon levels. So, in an upcoming patch we plan on adding more. The new portraits are currently intended to be given every 100 levels, starting at Paragon 200, and stops at Paragon 800.

Diablo 3 Season and Ladder System Confirmed

Josh Mosqueira has announced that Season and a Ladder-Like-System will be arriving in the first Major Content patch during the Reaper of Souls Release Event. The devs are thinking about adding Seasons-only legendary items, and have hinted at "Tiered Rifts" where players can compete with each other in Adventure mode and fight to the top of leaderboards.

Below is the full information from Blizzard:

Posted by Blizzard:

Seasons And Ladder-Like System
One of the features you guys have asked about a lot, that we have done a lot of research for, is something called
ladders. I'm happy to say that as part of our first big content patch in a couple of months, we will be releasing Seasons, which will include a ladder-like aspect to them. We're still working on them, but the general gist is that you'll level up a new character, we'll have specific ladders for Seasons, and also some goodies that will drop along the way. There's more information of that to come, and we're not making an announcement of when, but that's coming in the first major content patch - not the first patch, but the first major content patch.

Seasons-Exclusive Legendaries
There will be more legendary items in the future, both for rewards of Ladders, and also rewards from the Tiered Rifts. For the current ones, we probably are not going to revisit them. They all take time to do and I'd rather we were adding new legendary items, and the time is better spent on new legendary items than going back to refit old ones.

Tiered Rifts And Leaderboards
There is another major feature in the patch 2.1, which is going to be what we're internally calling tiered Rifts. The idea is a challenge scenario, where players do increasingly hard Rifts, to see who can get the farthest. You do your bounties, you do a Nephalem Rift. If you clear it, there's a chance to get a Greater Rift Token. If you successfully do that, you'll get a Greater Rift Key (rank 2), then Rank 3, etc.. Much like seasons, we're going to have a leaderboard as well, so you can see who got to the highest tier Rift, and what time were they able to obtain on that.
