Diablo 3 Class Information
- Five total character classes.
- Each class will have a female or male variant.
Barbarian:
- The Mount Arreat area, home of the barbarians, was devastated in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. The barbarian people have subsequently fallen into decline.
Confirmed Barbarian Abilities:
- Whirlwind: a reckless spinning attack that takes out any enemy in the Barbarian's path.
- Leap: precision jump that destroys enemies on landing.
- Cleave: hits multiple enemies in one swing.
- Ground Stomp: a thundering AoE stun.
- Seismic Slam: the Barbarian slams the ground, creating a directed shockwave that can hit multiple enemies in a line.
Witch Doctor:
- The Witch Doctor hails from the Teganze, an area of the Torajan jungles. They are a self-sacrificing people that believe in an alternate reality called the Unformed Land, which the Witch Doctors are able to tap into for their powers.
- The Witch Doctor is similar to Necromancer in function, but not intended as a replacement.
Conirmed Witch Doctor Abilities:
- Locust Swarm: Summons a swarm of insects that literally devour clusters of enemies, leaving nothing but bones.
- Wall of Zombies: Firewall-like spell that summons a line of zombies which stand and swing at nearby enemies.
- Firebomb: Grenade-like AoE (Area of Effect) fire spell.
- Horrify: AoE fear spell, causes most creatures to run away)
- Mongrel: Summons a demon dog from a skeleton. Casting locust swarm on a mongrel adds disease damage to its attacks. Intentionally destroying the mongrel damages nearby enemies.
- Mass Confusion: Temporarily turns a group of enemies against each other.
- Soul Harvest: AoE spell that kills an enemy and converts it into mana.
We all know that Diablo 3 will feature the Barbarian and Witch doctor, but what about the other 3 classes? Here are some speculations on what they might be:
-Barbarian - (Barbarian, brute force shouts/melee damage)
-Witch Doctor - (Necromancer mixed with some Druid, summons the dead, uses curses, uses fire, summoning party helping pets like spirits)
-Ranger/Rogue - (Assassin/Amazon Hybrid, using traps/bows/combo's)
-Elementalist - (Shamanisitic Caster using fire/ice/lightning, possibly have a warlock/dark side to him/her)
-Paladin - (maybe a healer like in wow but also with great elemental attacks) Paladin's uniqueness is also his/her auras,and the holy magic used to defeat evil.

Although i do not suggest you watch all of his clips. They reveal too much and nothing minor he reveals quests and stuff. I am just warning you that if you keep watching it might ruin the whole fun of getting the game and having fun playing with it.
It almost ruined it for me but i shut it off half way through the second clip.

I know this sound kinda crazy but i would love some kind of demon playable character in Diablo 3 with abilities sorta like paladin but like dark/demonic auras and the ability to summon a lesser demon to fight with him. But that's just me lol

i was wondering if u can hav sometyp of supernatural hunter/like an assassin/warrior type class.he can use (traps/throw silver daggers/do exorcisms) he can use use fast weps like a whip or rapier or somthin fast like that(and since hes a hybrib he can use thoes small knife things)he will be a str/dex/vit guy

I really hope they bring back some sort of ranger (that uses bow, crossbow, etc.) and i liked the assassin too but i wont mind too much if she doesnt come back

i would make a pure summoning class,if there are the three branches they would be demon holy and natural,
demons would be from little imps to miniboss sized monstrosities, i would make holy from small cupids, to glorious chariots, and the natural from ravens to the King of Bears!
but i would add the "only one type of pet at a time" thing that druids had.

by the way in my opinion the five classes will be: DRUID, BARBARIAN, WITCH DOCTOR, KNIGHT, AND WIZARD, or sorcerer or something to do with concentrated magical prowess because they mention balanced mana to frenzy bar ratios and those classes would fit perfect for knight and barb being on the frenzy side and the other three on the mana side. but its solely based on my educated opinion and nothing more

its almost 100% sure there will be an bow using class in the game cause when you look at the items section you see an bow on the ground and they would not put bows in the game if they cant be used!

i think the rogue character would be an amazing idea especially if you have played assassins creed (altiar) if you made the rogue kinda look like him with the ripped up robes and the rogue could be like an assasin type deadly yet silent killer somewhat of a trapper/hunter

Think there'll be like barbarian, witch doctor, ranged class, caster and knight. I'm pretty sure Blizzard will make an expansion pack including two classes and some other stuff they might have "forgotten" to add in the game.

Honestly, I think the remaining classes should be Paladin, Sage, and Ranger.
Ranger would be like Druids with bows, making the following archetype very SIMILAR to:
"DRUID, BARBARIAN, WITCH DOCTOR, KNIGHT, AND WIZARD"
Retaining the 3 skill tree format, I would like to see the following:
Barbarian_
Two-Weapon Specializations
Two-Handed Specializations
Shouts
Witch Doctor_
Diseases (jungle based DoT-like)
Voodoo (summoning)
Volcanic (fire DD skills)
Paladin_
Holy (Damage spells)
Combat (Damage skills)
Auras (Augmentation baby!)
Ranger_
Archery
Animal Mastery (damage pets)
Plant Mastery (augmentation pets)
Sage_
Necromancy (bones and more bones!)
Elementalist (spells and golem)
Illusion (demonic shapechanges)

I love the classes they have introduced thus far, my first charecter in D2 was a Barbarian just because of duel wielding and tanking was my thing back then. Evolved into either Druid or Necromancer later wich is why im thrilled about the Witch Dr, Ive never been a fan of straight spellcasters but the Wizzard still excites me quite a bit

as for speculations that is one of the best lists Ive seen so far.
I personally would like to see something like a paladin druid hybrid, some kind of heavy melee/summoning/buffing deal. But with no Armogedon. Basicly the Warlock that is described in the link above

yea i think the five classes are gonna be... the barbarian, wizard, witch doctor (those three confirmed), and elf/amazon thing with a different name, and probably something like a paladin. I'm pretty shure that there will be an assasins creed aliked ninja style teleporting/nightcrawler kickass warrior in d3 because to the new use of the enviroment like wall walking and cutting ropes wiht a big stone in the other end i think he will look a bit like the creature u can play in prince of prsia warrior within

and there we have it the long range wisard with some really impressing attacks . heavy mele barbarian ,lighter assasin dude and the new necro/witch doctor who is the new summoning gye now there are two possibilytys left the valhelsing gye u talk about is a good sugesstion yes if the barbarian will be tank but now the big queston who will be able to heal wizzard or WD I have noticed the bows and guns int the preiwiews so vanhelsing dude is a pretty shure class to.

the other possibility is thas instead of the vanhelsing there will be a holywarrior dude but this will impact on if ther will be a light mele or a ranged vanhelsing with mele.

A guy from Blizzard said that the only class returning from previous Diablo games is the Barbarian. Other classes will be based off of old characters and they may even bring them back in expansions; however, the original 5(excluding barbarian) will be all new classes.

I would say an archer class: Hunter or thief-like. With traps and maybe an animal summon (wolf or hawk or something).
The fifth class is the hardest one to guess. I was thinking some sort of polearm or longspear specialist. Combined with some cool martial-art skills.
I have full confidence Blizzard will come up with two more awesome classes!

Monk (THis is the PAladin !!!!!!!!
Now it must be a fighter who uses the new frenzy bar not the standard manabar. and bows are confirmed and ad for how i see it a leather robe gye with mabey a bended blade or two adn a really cool bow,crossbow,gun and so of.
This gye will satisfy the byers who whant the roll as the amazon and assasin.
the majorities of whanted roles os sorserer and paladin and the are back but changed so why not amazon it is just as much whanted as the necro and druid (summon) LOOk at withc docktor hehe. son Blizzard will not run the risk of loosing old players so ASSAsin/amazon = Vanhelsing (Ranger hehe now thats the last and the tanks would be barbarian MOnk- healers Monk Witch docktor,huge damage sourses ;wizzard ranger

Witch Doctor is kind of a hybrid between the Druid and the Necromancer, so I don't think a summoner nor Druid/Necromancer will be the last class. Monk I think is supposed to be a replacement Paladin what with the holy religious theme and all but if you ask me, I think he's closer to a Barbarian than the Paladin...I think the last class will be a ranged class like an amazon except more stealthy or magic dependent like Amazon/Assassin hybrid.

Exactly assasin/AMAzon and that will satisfy many players and i havent heard about expansions in d3 but ill think that there will be 1 or 2 but the most important is that they have mixed the old favorites so why not mix amazin and assasin. Besides assasin style is the shit now it is modern look at prototype assasins creed 2 ans so on. i you gyes have notices i dont think that there will be many healers in d3 maby monk and WD but wizard is sorc in an new way and WD is necro and Druid and RAnger should be Amazon/assasin have u gyes looked at Heroes of newerth its a clone of dota but effects are familiar to D3 and i susspects that ranger will look like this :follow thread : http://www.heroesofnewerth.com/heroview.php?hid=44 but much much darker and more fearsome
